THE TEAM

OVERVIEW:
Libraries are the hub of the community and opens up a whole new world of knowledge to our citizens. Inxuba Yethemba Municipality manages 6 libraries within the two towns of Cradock (4) & Middelburg (2).
SERVICES FUNCTIONS:
. Managing and Operating the budget on Libraries
. Maintenance of the Libraries
. Issuing of Books and Library material
. Ensure the execution of Council’s Policy on Facilities
. Ensure access to information and knowledge
. Client services and communication with the users and public
. Ensure access to information technology and computer training.

OVERVIEW:
The IYM Environmental Development is responsible for the development and sustainability of all the municipalities’ environmental assets and infrastructure within the IYM area. It also strives to create new environmental sites, create awareness campaigns to changes the mentality of communities towards environmental health and contributes to the overall wellbeing of the environment. Currently, this department is responsible for managing 7 cemeteries, 4 Sports Facilities and 2 parks as well as other various environmental sites.
KEY FUNCTIONS:

. Cleaning & beautification of open spaces
. Management of Hiking trails & recreation areas
. Planting, pruning and mowing of trees, shrubs and grass

OVERVIEW:
The Community Work Programme (CWP) is an innovative offering from government to provide a job safety net for unemployed people of working age. The CWP is also a great opportunity for unemployed youth who are actively looking for employment opportunities. The programme provides participants with much needed extra cash to make you effective in your search for full-time or part-time employment. Programme participants do community work. The Community Work Programme (CWP) is a government programme aimed at tackling poverty and unemployment.

OVERVIEW:
EHPs have a key role to play in resolving environmental challenges and preventing diseases of environmental origin to ensure healthy and safe environments for communities within Inxuba Yethemba Municipality.

OVERVIEW:
The Inxuba Yethemba Traffic department main objective is to promote road safety, to ensure the safe and free flow of traffic to prevent road crashes and deaths on our roads. To maximize the effectiveness of local government efforts, particularly in road traffic law enforcement.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
All legislative/statutory requirements functions in terms of Traffic Management
Drivers licenses & Law Enforcement
Road markings /signs
Attending Court duties & Preparing Court Rolls
Testing of all vehicles

OVERVIEW:
The Municipality is responsible for a healthy, clean and safe environment. We ensure that the 2 towns of the Inxuba Municipality are kept clean, that daily refuse is collected and the waste disposal sites and recycle plants are properly managed.

OVERVIEW:
Fire-fighting services serving the area of the district municipality as a whole, which includes: planning, co-ordination, and regulation of fire services, specialised fire-fighting services, co-ordination of the standardisation of infrastructure, vehicles, equipment and procedures and the training of fire officers.
KEY SERVICES:
. Incidents that may require specialist training and equipment to save life and property.
. Industrial accidents, collapsed buildings or soil.
. Other types of fire such as vehicles and stoves on fire.

OVERVIEW:
This Programme is a key government initiative, which contributes to Government Policy Priorities in terms of decent work & sustainable livelihoods, education, health; rural development; food security & land reform and the fight against crime & corruption. EPWP subscribes to outcome 4 which states “Decent employment through inclusive economic growth.”
